Re: ⚽ Bournemouth v West Ham - Official Match Thread - It's a Ratch
O'Neil said we are a threat from set pieces.

Not this season we haven't been. Even after today, only 6 teams have scored fewer goals from set pieces than us (penalties excluded), in the Premier League.

We have scored 8 goals from set pieces, including today's 3.

One of the reasons, we are where we are in the league.

We are the joint highest, in the numbers of penalties won in the league.

We are also have, the lowest number of goals conceded from set pieces.

haha......2 wins and a draw plus 10 goals and still moaning. Only WHU supporters.

Mind you, it may be a bit ugly over at Totts.

Goal one: Set piece corner - O'Neil correct - set piece

Goal two: Coufal completely out-muscles and robs the defender, quick one-two with Bowen, races to by-line, great cross, great leap, excellent goal - O'Neil correct - physicality

Goal three: Set piece corner - O'Neil correct - set piece

Goal four: Fabulous dinked ball from Rice to Bowen, excellent cross, incredible finish - O'Neil wrong - nothing set-piece, physic or direct about it.

One man's 'direct' is another man's 'defence-shredding pass'.

If O'Neil wants to criticise, he should look at his defence, who looked like they'd never played together before, and his midfield who lost just about every 50/50 ball and a lot that were 60/40 their favour.

Actually Bournemouth played like a bunch of mincing faggots. So there's that, Gary

n.b. I quite like Gary O'Neil and it was West Ham's good play that caused Bournemouth to crumble like they did.

Agree but Moyes, as an old fashioned CB himself, will always choose Soucek who today had a decent game in terms of defensive headers, blocks and interceptions.

Usually Soucek is peripheral but the fans today and his first decent performance for months means Fornals and Downes continuing to not get a look in. It will be part of our undoing at some point again but expect nothing to change for Moyes while he gets results from his low block system again.

Start him Wednesday and back him to score. He loves a goal against the dippers. This would be one to rest Soucek.

With the possible exception of di Canio, I can't think of a foreign player with more love for this team than Pablo. Love him for his commitment to the shirt

Its not my favoured position for him, but Fornals should be starting ahead of Benrahma. He should be starting ahead of Soucek in his correct position but thats never going to happen.

I know people think he’s shit, but he clearly isn’t. Improves us him being on the pitch. Benrahma is too hit and more miss. His final ball is mostly terrible.

Delighted, especially for Paqueta and Fornals. Also Fabianski is amazing - you just can't write him off.
